1.1 All rates quoted are inclusive of VAT and are subject to availability and alteration. 
1.2 Deposits paid either directly to Morag’s Lodges Ltd or through one of our affiliate web sites are non-refundable. 
1.3 All nights’ accommodation must be paid for on arrival in full as stated in your booking confirmation and is non-refundable.  
1.4 Morag’s Lodge reserves the right to charge a fee in relation to payments made by credit card. 

2.1 We make every effort to host you in the accommodation of your choice however due to the nature of our business, we may have to alter the accommodation stated on your confirmation. 
2.2 If we have to alter the accommodation type booked it will be to an equal standard  

3.1 If you wish to change or cancel your booking we require that you do so in writing (email) no less than 48 hours prior to arrival. If you booked via an agent, for example, booking.com, you must cancel the booking directly with the agent. 
3.2 Cancellations made within 48 hours will be charged at the full rate for all nights’ accommodation for each member of your party using the card details provided at the time of the booking.  
3.3 Failure to check-in (no-show) on the booked date of arrival will incur a charge to your credit card of the full amount for all nights’ accommodation and the remainder of the booking will be canceled. 
3.4  Group Bookings (more than 15 people) fall under the ‘Group Cancellation Policy’. See section 8.
3.5 The cancellation period will be 48 hours from 12pm on the date you were due to arrive.

4.1 Our check-in time is from 4.00pm. if you require early check-in please request this in writing (email) 48 hours prior to arrival 
4.2 If you arrive and reception is unmanned, please check-in at our bar. Please note we operate reduced reception & bar hours on quiet nights.  
4.3 IMPORTANT - If you arrive and find both the bar and reception closed, you will find – clearly marked in the porch area at the front door - a welcome pack containing your key and directions to your room and our facilities. We will charge the card you booked with and your receipt will be contained within your welcome pack. 

5.1 The following definitions apply: 

“Booking” means a booking to stay at Morag’s Lodge and includes accommodation, meals, and any additional product or service (including those provided by a third party) purchased from us. 

“Contract” means the agreement between you and us (made subject to these terms) to fulfill a Booking or purchase a Product. 

“Exclusive Hire” refers to Morag’s Lodge hired for exclusive use via online agents and direct bookings. 

“Extra Services” means early check-in, late check out, dog supplement, meal options, or activities selected at the time of placing an Order. 

“Group” means an organised, official group formed with a constitution and/or memorandum and articles and as explained in further detail in clause 5 of these terms. 

"No-Show" means a guest who does not arrive at the Hostel (but has made a Booking) and does not give any advance notice or indication of such intent to us. 

“Hostel” refers to Morag’s Lodge. 

“Order” means your order for a Booking and/or Product, made online or by calling us on 0044 1320 366 289. 

“Standard Terms” means our standard terms & conditions 

“We, us, our” means Morag’s Lodges Ltd, company number SC192271. 

“Writing” means letter or email. 

“You, your” means any customer who places an Order with us for a Booking and/or Product. 

5.2 These conditions and any matters referred to by us, form the entire understanding between you and us and supersede any prior promises, representations (unless fraudulent) or undertakings. 
5.3 Any omission or error in any sales literature, web page or site, order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgment, dispatch note, invoice or other document issued by us may be corrected by us without liability. We will advise you of any changes at the time of placing an Order or as soon as is reasonably possible thereafter. 

6.1 Please note all Bookings are subject to availability and 
6.2 We reserve the right to decline a request for any Booking or a Product at our sole discretion. If we are unable to accept your Order (for whatever reason) we will inform you of this and will not charge you for the Booking or Product ordered. This might be because the Product is out of stock, there is not available at the Hostel for the requested Booking, because of unexpected limits on our resources which we could not reasonably plan for and/or because we have identified an error in the price or the description of the Product or Booking. 
6.3 The provision of a Booking Confirmation does not guarantee that you will be provided with a room on the date you have requested. In some circumstances, we may be unable to honor this and where this is the case, we will, upon providing you with at least 2 months’ notice (prior to the date on which you are intending to attend the Hostel) contact you to amend the booking. We will try our best to offer you another room, either at Morag’s Lodge or alternative accommodation, and where you refuse to take up this request, we will cancel your booking and provide you with a refund of any sums you have paid in advance for that booking. 
6.4 Where we provide you with a Booking Confirmation, it is your responsibility to check the Booking Confirmation and confirm all details stated within it are correct. If you do not receive a Booking Confirmation it is your responsibility to notify us of this, to enable us to check and where relevant, issue the Booking Confirmation. 
6.5 If you believe that there is an error in the Booking Confirmation, you must notify us within 48 hours of receiving it, or prior to the date of your arrival at the Hostel (whichever is the earlier).  
6.6 Bookings can only be discussed and amended by you (being the person that has placed the reservation with us) and whose details we hold on record unless consent has been given to discuss with another named person. 
6.7 By placing a request for booking with us you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract and that the information you have provided to us is correct. All bookings made by telephone, online, or other forms of distance communication are made subject to these terms and conditions, and by submitting a booking request you warrant that you have the full authority to do so on behalf of all and any persons on whose behalf you are submitting the request. You further confirm that all such persons are aware of and accept these conditions. 
6.8 The maximum length of stay is 14 consecutive nights. Following any stay of 14 nights or greater, you (and any of your guests that you have made a Booking for) will not be permitted to stay in the Hostel for at least 7 nights. We are not authorised to, and therefore we do not provide semi-permanent housing. We cannot be used as a primary place of residence.  
6.9 If you have made a Booking that includes meals, we shall endeavor to meet your dietary requirements, whether arising from a medical requirement, religious commitment, or as a matter of personal preference. However, you must provide us with at least two weeks’ notice (in advance of your stay) of any such dietary requirements. We recommend that you discuss meal options at the time of making your booking as it may not always be possible to accommodate late dietary requests. 
6.10 We reserve the right to pass any additional costs incurred for specialist meal provisions to you, however we will (where possible) mitigate these costs.  

7.1 Children (under 18’s) 

Infants 0-2yrs: Infants are welcome to stay in our private rooms. If using a travel cot, an infant can stay free of charge. We can provide 1 travel cot per room. We cannot allow infants to stay in shared dorm accommodation.  

Children 3-13yrs: Children under the age of 14yrs are welcome to stay in our private rooms, accompanied by an adult (18+) and are subject to our full adult rate. The adult staying with the child will hold full responsibility for the child. We cannot allow children under the age of 14yrs to stay in shared dorm accommodation. 

Children 14-15yrs: Children 14yrs and up must be accompanied by an adult (18+) and are welcome to stay in our shared dorm accommodation, the child will be subject to the full adult price. 

Young Persons 16-17yrs: Young persons are welcome to stay unaccompanied in either private or dorm accommodation and are subject to the full adult price. They do not require an adult (18+) to stay with them, but the cardholder on the booking will be held responsible for the young person/s. 

7.2 We work hard to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all of our guests. To assist with this, you may be asked to provide a valid ID on arrival at the Hostel. The ID must match the name and address on the Booking. We reserve the right to ask for ID from any guest on check-in. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation at our discretion. 
7.3 Any of the following is accepted by us as an appropriate form of ID: 

Valid forms of ID for UK Residents: 

  • A current UK Passport 

  • A valid photographic Driver's Licence not older than 10 years old 

  • Services ID - Fire, Police, Ambulance, NHS or Armed Forces 

  • A Student Identity Card, from a UK university with a current admissions date 

  • A valid Bus UK Pass 

  • A Bank Card when accompanied by another card that has the individuals name embossed on it or accompanied with a recent utility bill with a matching name and address to the booking. 

  • Any other UK government approved Photo identification. 

Valid forms of ID for Non-UK Residents: 

  • A current Passport - this is mandatory for non-UK residents unless they have a recognised National Identity Card if the guest is from within the European Union 

8.1 A 10% non-refundable & non-transferrable deposit is due within 30 days of receiving the invoice to secure the booking. 
8.2 Final group numbers must be confirmed more than 14 days before the date of stay. After this time there can be no alteration to the booking.  
8.3 The outstanding invoice amount is due 14 days prior to the date of stay.  
8.4 We make every effort to host you in the accommodation of your choice however due to the nature of our business, we may have to alter the accommodation stated on your confirmation. 
8.5 If you wish to change or cancel your booking we require that you do so in writing no less than 14 days prior to arrival. The 10% deposit shall be retained by Morag’s Lodge to cover administration costs. 
8.6 No refunds for cancellations made within 14 days of the date of arrival.  
8.7 No refunds for failure to check-in on the booked date. In this situation, the remaining nights of the booking will be canceled.   
8.8 Check in time must be confirmed in advance. 
8.9 All meals and mealtimes must be arranged in advance.  
8.10 If there are any food intolerances or allergies, we must be made aware of this in advance. 
8.11 The full names and the sex of each group member must be provided in advance. In certain circumstances, we may also request dates of birth and Nationalities. 
8.12 If there are any special rooming requirements this must be arranged in advanc

9.1 We pride ourselves on creating friendly welcoming and above all safe places for people of all ages to enjoy. Any breaches of our admission, behavior, or safety policies will be treated seriously and regarded as a breach of these terms and conditions. 
9.2 Whether a Group booking or a booking made by or on behalf of individuals, if the behavior of yourself or any member of a party is considered likely to cause danger, damage or offense, we reserve the right at our reasonable discretion to cancel or terminate a stay at the Hostel completely. If any member of our staff considers that the behavior of any member of your party is unacceptable, they are authorised to end the stay and you will be asked to leave our premises. Should this situation arise our responsibility for your Booking will cease and we will not be obliged to cover any expense which may be incurred by the party concerned, neither will we consider any claim for compensation or refunds. 
9.3 You are responsible for the cost of any damage caused by yourself or your party during your stay at the Hostel; these charges will be levied by and should be paid to us prior to departure. Should any such behavior halt or interrupt our ability to continue to trade any bed, room or other product, you will be responsible for compensating us in full for all losses directly incurred. Such behavior or damage may lead to civil or criminal proceedings where appropriate. Furthermore by these terms and conditions you agree that we may at our discretion take a £200 pre authorisation on your credit or debit card as a security bond towards damage caused by you or your group to our property during your stay (for the avoidance of doubt such bond will only be claimed in the event of damage as referred to above). 
9.4 Party Leader responsibilities: As a group leader making a group Booking you are also accepting responsibility for the safeguarding and behavior of your party. There should be at least one responsible adult on duty at all times, this is in order to ensure all participants behave according to our policy. 
9.5 Alcohol: Guests and Members are not allowed to bring any alcoholic beverages to our licensed Hostel. The restriction is not applicable to our Exclusive Hire scheme where the entire property is hired. 
9.6 Under licensing laws: We and our staff are responsible for the behavior of guests on licensed premises. In the event of rowdy, unsafe or drunken behavior on licensed premises (Hostels), or where one guest supplies another with alcohol brought on to the premises, we as the licensees could be deemed to be liable. This is the case even if we and our staff did not supply the alcohol. 
9.7 Should an incident occur which contravenes the law resulting in guests becoming drunk or causing a nuisance to other guests, then we may be liable to prosecution for allowing the incident to take place. We may also be liable where alcohol is supplied by a guest to an individual under 18, in which case both us and the guest may be liable to prosecution.  

 

10.1 Exclusive Hire Booking 
10.1.1A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of 10% will be taken to secure your Booking (Bookings made less than 8 weeks (56 days) in advance require full payment at the time of Booking). Payment can be made by BACS, MasterCard or Visa. 
10.1.2 The balance of your Booking is due 8 weeks (56 days) before the date of arrival at the Hostel. 
10.1.Unless you have arranged payment by BACS, the payment card details used to pay your deposit payment will be securely stored against your Booking and the balance will automatically be taken 8 weeks (56 days) before the date of arrival at the Hostel. You will be notified by e-mail 1 week prior to this payment being taken. 
10.1.4 In the event of a failed balance payment, you will be contacted to provide alternate payment details. Failure to pay your balance may result in your Booking being cancelled. 
10.2 Exclusive Hire Cancellation 
10.2.1In all cases, if you have to cancel your Booking, please inform us as soon as possible by phone and in writing. 
10.2.2 If you have to cancel your Booking the following cancellation fees apply, dependent on the number of days before the arrival date that notification of cancellation is received:  
10.2.3 No. of days before arrival / Cancellation charge payable 

  • 56 days or more / Any booking deposits already paid or due 

  • 55 – 28 days / 50% of the total cost of your booking 

  • 27 – 0 days / 100% of the total cost of your booking 

10.3 Exclusive Hire Arrival & Departure - On the day of arrival, the Hostel is available from 4.00pm. On the day of departure, you are asked to vacate by 11am. 
10.4 Exclusive Hire  Your Responsibilities & Conduct 
10.4.1 This Booking has been entered into on the understanding that the total number in your party shall not exceed the total number of beds booked. 
10.4.2 You must seek special permission from us in writing before Booking if you wish to hold any kind of event where the number of guests exceeds the bed capacity and/or you wish to bring any additional equipment or temporary accommodation to the site (including additional cooking equipment, tents, marque, gazebos or similar). We reserve the right to terminate the hire immediately should this be taking place without our prior written consent. 
10.4.3 You are considered to be the group leader and must be over 21 years old. 
10.4.4 You are responsible for the payment of the Booking, the safety of the group and the general housekeeping of the Hostel during the stay. 
10.4.5 You are responsible for looking after the Hostel and its equipment during the period of hire and are expected to take good care of it. The Hostel is provided fully furnished. Bed linen is provided, towels can be hired. 
10.4.6 You are advised to check on arrival and report any shortcomings, damage or missing items immediately to us or our representative. You must report and pay for any damage caused to the Hostel or for equipment lost, damaged, broken or stolen during the occupancy. Unsuitable substitutes are not accepted. 
10.4.7 All the equipment, utensils etc. must be left in a clean condition at the end of the hire period. A charge of £12.00 per hour will be made by us if any additional cleaning is required. 
10.4.8 Please ensure that all gas cookers, lights and heaters are switched off, doors and windows are secured, rooms are left clean and tidy and waste bins are emptied, before handing the keys back to us or to our representative. 
10.4.9 Please ensure all doors and windows are secure and cookers and lights turned off should you leave the property unattended for any reason during the period of your hire. 
10.4.10 We are licensed for the sale and consumption of alcohol, you are permitted to bring your own alcohol but you are kindly asked to respect the law, which prohibits the sale, supply or consumption of alcohol to those under 18 years of age. You or your group members may become liable to prosecution should this law be breached. 
10.4.7 We are located in a quiet Highland village, please show consideration for our neighbours. If you or a member of your party fails to comply with this requirement, your Booking may be terminated and you will be asked to leave the Hostel. If you enter the Hostel after this time you will be trespassing. No whole or partial refunds will be made if your party is asked to leave under these circumstances. 
10.4.8 We reserve the right to decline a Booking or refuse to hand over a Hostel to any person or group where, in our opinion, facilities are unsuitable for the hirer or any member of the hirer’s party without liability on either side. 
10.4.9 The use of candles, incense burners, flammable liquids/gases, fireworks, smoke machines, dry ice machines, camping stoves and firearms is strictly prohibited. Use of such items may result in the party being asked to leave immediately, without refund of any portion of the hire fee. 
10.4.10 We reserve the right to repossess the Hostel at any time where damage has been caused, or in our opinion, is likely to be caused, by you or any member of your party. In such cases we shall not be liable to make a refund of any portion of the hire fee paid. 

11.1 Well-behaved dogs are permitted at our property. 
11.2 You must tell us at the time of booking if you wish to bring a dog. An Extra Services charge will be made per dog for the duration of the stay. 
11.3 You are fully responsible for your dog at all times and for cleaning up after your dog. All dog feces must be cleared up immediately and disposed of appropriately. 
11.4 No other domestic pets are permitted at our properties. 
11.5 Registered assistance dogs are permitted at our property. You must notify us at the time of booking if you wish to bring a registered assistance dog with you which can stay with us free of charge. 
11.6 Any damage to our property caused by your dog will need to be paid for by you. 
11.7 You must not leave your dog unattended at any time within our accommodation, any vehicle, and/or the Hostel grounds. 
11.8 If your dog is deemed to be a nuisance or danger to other Hostel guests or staff, we have the right to request you to remove the dog from our premises immediately. You must comply with this request and if you fail to do so, we may ask you to leave our premises and cancel the remainder of your booking. 
11.9 We do not accept liability for any loss, damage or illness to dogs. 
11.10 Dogs should be fully inoculated, micro-chipped, and have had a veterinary health check. 
11.11 You will need to bring your own equipment (bowls, bed, poop bags, food, etc) as we do not provide these.

12.1 In the unlikely event it becomes necessary to change your Booking, in total or in part, we will inform you as soon as is reasonably possible of any necessary changes. You will have the choice of: 

  • Accepting the changed arrangements 

  • Canceling your Booking and receiving a full refund of all payments made 

13.1 We will not be liable to you if we are prevented or delayed in the performing of any of our obligations to you if this is due to any cause beyond our reasonable control including (without limitation): an act of God, explosion, flood, fire or accident; war or civil disturbance; strike, industrial action or stoppages of work; any form of government intervention; a third party act or omission; failure by you to give us a correct delivery address or notify us of any change of address. 
13.2 We are idyllically located in a wild and beautiful part of Scotland. During periods of extreme weather, we will endeavor to remain open and to keep you informed of the latest conditions. We recommend you check with us before commencing your journey. If we are open, but you choose not to travel because of the weather, this will be treated as normal cancellation and the terms outlined above will apply. 

14.1 We will ensure that the accommodation and /or other services you order from us are provided in accordance with these terms and conditions and shall be provided by us with reasonable skill and care. 
14.2 Where an element of your Booking is not provided to the standard stated in clause 16.1 you must notify us within 28 days of the alleged breach. We shall then investigate the matter and where necessary agree on an appropriate level of compensation; depending on the nature and severity of the breach; compensation may take the form of partial/full refund, credit note towards a future booking, complementary service or other agreed benefit. 
14.3 We will not be liable to you by way of representation (unless fraudulent), common law duty or under any express or implied term of the contract for any losses which are not foreseeable by both you and us when the Contract is formed arising in connection with the supply of the services or their use by you; any losses which are not caused by any breach by us; or any business or trade losses. 
14.4 Our entire liability in connection with the Contract will not exceed the value of the Products purchased or the Booking made less any amendment charges paid to us. 
14.5 Except in relation to death or personal injury caused by our negligence our liability remains, at all times, limited to the value of the Products purchased or the Booking made, excluding any amendment charges paid to us. 

15.1 When using our website or speaking to us on the telephone you accept that communication with us will be mainly electronic. We will contact you by e-mail or provide you with information or by posting notices on our website. By booking with us you agree to this electronic means of communication and you acknowledge that all contracts, notices, information and other communications that we provide to you electronically comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in Writing. This condition does not affect your statutory rights. 

16.1 If any of these terms and conditions or any provisions of a Contract with you are determined to be invalid unlawful or unenforceable to any extent, such term, condition or provision will to that extent be removed from the remaining terms, conditions or provisions which will continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by law. 

17.1 We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time. You will be subject to the terms and conditions in force at the time that you make a Booking or purchase Products from us, unless any change is required to be made by law or if we notify you of the change to these terms and conditions before we confirm that your Booking or purchase has been successful.
